Wow...what a palooza this was! Many thanks to everyone who came! I'll try to piece together what I can remember from the night that was...
It started out pretty rainy - but the clouds parted at 4pm exactly when we opened the doors to the Tea Barn...and the first of roughly 85 guests arrived. Pretty good turnout for the night before Easter. (that was a scheduling snafu on our part - it won't happen again next year!)
After a few drinks and some practice rounds of beerpong - the founding fathers of March-a-Palooza and EaglesMD.com (Brian, Mark, Tim and Mike) gave a little "Old School-inspired" welcome speech - and then the games began! (If you didn't know, the hot-as-shit outfits worn by the founding fathers were inspired by that movie also. Check out the pics on EaglesMD.com or watch the movie again if you don't remember!)
The highlight of the night was the 16-team beer pong tournament! Much love goes out to the following teams of two for competing. In no particular order, we had Do It Up, Team Sutton, FPS (Fucking Pong Syndicate), Castle Deep, #1 Seed, Show me your Genitals, Money Makers, Engaged, Low Carb, Horns & Halos, Crabby Dicks, Chode Runner, Cock & Balls, Crazy Bitches, Team Whatever, and Your Mom's a Monkey. These teams battled it out for hours to get to our final four: Scott's Mom (formally Low Carb), Cock & Balls, FPS and Money Makers. Money Makers took out FPS in a close battle, while Scott's Mom played with Cock & Balls for an hour. (ha! I crack myself up!) In the finals...the Money Makers were too strong for Scott's mom. For their efforts, the Money Makers took home some sweet-ass plaques and got their picture taken with yours truely. What a prize!
I have NO idea what was going on with the flip-cup games - but somehow Jamie Rash walked away with a flip cup trophy. So congrats to him!!
Then we stepped downstairs for the Wang Kang (Wing Eating) contest. 5 hungry lads stepped up to the table. The first to eat 10 hot wings got the coveted "Kick Ass" award (a trophy with a karate dude kicking the backside of a donkey on it!) This was the SLOWEST wing eating contest I've ever seen...but in the end, Jamie Rash walked away with his second trophy of the night. Seriously, I could have won that shit with BOTH arms tied behind my back!
Big shout-out to our bartender for the night. He kicked ass - and made some mean Jack & Cokes, fruity shots and all kinds of frosty beverages. And from the looks of his tip jar at the end of the night, March-a-Palooza treated him well!
I hope everyone enjoyed the food - thanks for hooking it up Mark - best fried chicken on the east coast (Martins in Rising Sun!) and some good ass wings from Bill Batemans in HdeG. At one point toward the end of the night i grabbed a few shrimp and thought...damn, these things suck - they are so crunchy. I forgot to peel them first. IDIOT! Another big shout out to Stateline Liquors for hooking us up with the beer! If you've never been to this liquor store - make it the ONLY liquor store you go to from now on. Best service and selection in the area...BY FAR! Love 'em!
So that's it - hope everyone had a great time - we did! There will be a March-a-Palooza 3 fo sho next year, so tell all your friends. We want it bigger and better each year!
