EaglesMD.com - Tailgating on Another Level!

Tailgate #1 is in the books...

E-mail Print PDF

The tailgate was great! The game sucked. And the ride home was the WORST! I don't know what the hell was going on in Philly...but we sat in traffic for over an hour trying to get from Pats to 95. It took us about 3 hours to get back to Maryland!

Anyway...we had a lot of fun BEFORE the game. The doctors woke up early and hit the road at 5am. We were in the lot by 6! There were a handful of other people there...but not many. We were a little scared of the a-hole golf-cart guy driving by and giving us shit - but he left us alone this year!

We had an ass-load of food for this tailgate! EaglesMD kicked it off with some Kobe beef tenderloins. I'm not exaggerating when I'm telling you that these were the best steaks I've ever had in my life. (Thanks Mark!) Perfectly cooked, juicy and tender as hell! They were accompanied by my soon-to-be-world-famous eggs (complete with ham, 3 cheeses, jalapeno, onions, garlic and more!) Timmy made some dy-no-mite crab dip for snacking around 10am or so. And Mike finished off the food with some killer mini cheese-steaks around noon. I now can explain the insane heartburn I had all evening yesterday.

Or maybe it was the Sambuca! It felt good to polish off a liter before 11. We introduced some newbies to it. They loved it of course. Some newbies also got introduced to the Kimbo Stick! That did NOT feel so good. Of course, Mark and I had to show them how it's SUPPOSED to be done.

The WCU dance team was back and graced us with a little performace and the Apache dance made everyone happy. We also started playing a little "Sweet Caroline" - and a Mom came to our tent with her 3 month old baby...who's name was...wait for it...Caroline! We sang the whole song to her while she kicked her little feet and shook her hands around. It was by far the cutest thing we've ever done. Until I grabbed the mic and asked "Does anyone want to hit this baby with the Kimbo stick?"

Nobody did. And the Mom thought it was funny too. See you bitches in October. We'll miss you for the Chiefs game. Good Luck!

Oh...and i'll have pics up from the tailgate by Wednesday this week. Check em out - funny stuff!

2009-10 Themes

E-mail Print PDF

I've been getting asked by a lot of people: "What are you guys going to do this year???" "What's are some of the tailgate themes?" "Have any of you been arrested or murdered in the offseason?"

I'll try to answer some of those questions. We really haven't hammered out any specific themes yet this year. We're a little nervous about the yearly crack-down on tailgates. I'm sure it'll all blow over by week 2 though. (as usual). So I'm sure Week 1 will just be a HUGE welcome back party. (Complete with Japanese fighting swords!)

We need to make a run up to PA and get some more pyrotechnics for this season. We have some great new lighting to bust out for the Dallas Sunday Night game. That game is going to be REDICK!

I'd like to organize a 100-yard Apache dance. I want to get as many people as we can to fill up a row next to D3 and dance their damn asses off!

I'm going to invest in an orange-juicer and make Orange Crushes (complete with shaved ice) for every home game.

I'm seriously thinking about charging a $1 fee for anyone that wants to "Kimbo Stick" their friend this year. And if it's a weak hit...you have to cough up another $5.

I have a great new game to play. It's a dice game called Left-Right-Center. If you are reading this and going to a tailgate....bring as many $1 bills as you can to the game. This game is EASY and FUN and ADDICTIVE. And if there are a lot of people playing, you can win some easy cash! (and/or get WASTED!)

So to sum it up...Tailgates are going to be back. They are going to be violent. They are going to be drunk. They are going to be fun. They are going to be dance-filled, beer-drinking, sexy, gas-powered, crazy, stupid good times. Got any other ideas? Bring it!

(oh yeah...I'm working on the 2008-2009 Tailgate DVD. Go to www.youtube.com/bzaq to check out a little teaser trailer!)

2009-2010 Season is near!

E-mail Print PDF

It's our favorite season...FOOTBALL! We are dangerously close to the start of the 2009-2010 NFL Season. I know EaglesMD is excited...are you?!?! September 20th has been circled on our calendar for a while now. All of your favorite EaglesMD docs will be on-hand for the first home game of the year. We're shining up the Kimbo Stick, filling up the Sambuca Bottles and stocking up on Fireworks. (Not that we hit people with sticks, drink a lot, or set off fireworks...I'm just sayin...)

We hope to have a few upgrades to the madness this year. We're looking at a new tent (of course, we destroy 1-2 per season...but this one's bigger and badder!) We'll have some new recipes up on the site this season. We've all got new HD cameras and camcorders to document the fun. Pics of each home game will be posted on the website by Wednesday each week. I'm going to try and get little movies up on YouTube also. There WILL be a DVD from last seasons' carnage. I promise to have that done by the Dallas game AT THE LATEST!

It's going to be a strange season without JJ and B.Dawk. We promise to honor their memory with an INSANE season of tailgating! Please use the comments link to post your thoughts and expectations for this coming year. Hope to see you all at D3 soon!

March-a-Palooza 2009 ROCKED!

E-mail Print PDF

Wow...what a palooza this was! Many thanks to everyone who came! I'll try to piece together what I can remember from the night that was...

It started out pretty rainy - but the clouds parted at 4pm exactly when we opened the doors to the Tea Barn...and the first of roughly 85 guests arrived. Pretty good turnout for the night before Easter. (that was a scheduling snafu on our part - it won't happen again next year!)

After a few drinks and some practice rounds of beerpong - the founding fathers of March-a-Palooza and EaglesMD.com (Brian, Mark, Tim and Mike) gave a little "Old School-inspired" welcome speech - and then the games began! (If you didn't know, the hot-as-shit outfits worn by the founding fathers were inspired by that movie also. Check out the pics on EaglesMD.com or watch the movie again if you don't remember!)

The highlight of the night was the 16-team beer pong tournament! Much love goes out to the following teams of two for competing. In no particular order, we had Do It Up, Team Sutton, FPS (Fucking Pong Syndicate), Castle Deep, #1 Seed, Show me your Genitals, Money Makers, Engaged, Low Carb, Horns & Halos, Crabby Dicks, Chode Runner, Cock & Balls, Crazy Bitches, Team Whatever, and Your Mom's a Monkey. These teams battled it out for hours to get to our final four: Scott's Mom (formally Low Carb), Cock & Balls, FPS and Money Makers. Money Makers took out FPS in a close battle, while Scott's Mom played with Cock & Balls for an hour. (ha! I crack myself up!) In the finals...the Money Makers were too strong for Scott's mom. For their efforts, the Money Makers took home some sweet-ass plaques and got their picture taken with yours truely. What a prize!

I have NO idea what was going on with the flip-cup games - but somehow Jamie Rash walked away with a flip cup trophy. So congrats to him!!

Then we stepped downstairs  for the Wang Kang (Wing Eating) contest. 5 hungry lads stepped up to the table. The first to eat 10 hot wings got the coveted "Kick Ass" award (a trophy with a karate dude kicking the backside of a donkey on it!) This was the SLOWEST wing eating contest I've ever seen...but in the end, Jamie Rash walked away with his second trophy of the night. Seriously, I could have won that shit with BOTH arms tied behind my back!

Big shout-out to our bartender for the night. He kicked ass - and made some mean Jack & Cokes, fruity shots and all kinds of frosty beverages. And from the looks of his tip jar at the end of the night, March-a-Palooza treated him well!

I hope everyone enjoyed the food - thanks for hooking it up Mark - best fried chicken on the east coast (Martins in Rising Sun!) and some good ass wings from Bill Batemans in HdeG. At one point toward the end of the night i grabbed a few shrimp and thought...damn, these things suck - they are so crunchy. I forgot to peel them first. IDIOT! Another big shout out to Stateline Liquors for hooking us up with the beer! If you've never been to this liquor store - make it the ONLY liquor store you go to from now on. Best service and selection in the area...BY FAR! Love 'em!

So that's it - hope everyone had a great time - we did! There will be a March-a-Palooza 3 fo sho next year, so tell all your friends. We want it bigger and better each year!
